| not that I've been too lazy to update my blog, it's just the fact that I've been working like mad and didn't even have time for grocery shopping.
Just Do it - I've been freelancing in Shanghai for almost one year. This video project with NIKE totally used up all my energy, my time and my love... It was Holden who brought me in W+K, an international advertising agency that works for big client like NIKE and Starbucks. I was hired to help producing the video and motion graphic for a NIKE basketball event. Great fun, hard work, long hour, nice workplace, interesting people (cool and young graphic designers from around the world)... feeling real lucky to be here. Happy for making the right decision of moving to Shanghai from HK. There's less competition in media/design industry, less expensive to live, less stress, smaller community so more chances to meet people and make friends, then take it to the next level, which is more work opportunities for me. Not that I am not competitive enough to work in HK, I never worried getting a job there, it's just being in Shanghai allows me to do something I want, to live a life I like to live. I don't have to get up at 7am every morning, quene up for the bus under 31'c of heat, an hour bus ride from Ma On Shan to wherever down town, spending 10 hours with the computer monitor, doing routine job and don't dream about having time to rest my ass; making 10K but spending 3K on the rent, 3K on the food, 1K on the tax, 1K on transportation, all I got is 2K in my pocket to "survive" for a month (in HK!). Can you imagine my current life in Shanghai: I get up at 11am, turn on my laptop chatting a bit with people on my MSN list, work a bit, go out for late lunch with my honey, then sipping Cappucino in coffee shops where provide free wireless internet, work a bit again, take a taxi back home and make dinner with my honey, sometimes we go out to grab some Indian curry, Japanese sashimi, Cantonese 'Cha Siu', American burger or simply local Chinese food. Sometimes we watch a DVD after dinner, or get a body/foot massage. If our friends got parties, we would go out clubbing, and we don't need to worry about paying money to get in. Every night there are places to go out at night in Shanghai. Everytime you go out, you got to meet new friends from around the world.
so, don't ask me when am I going back to HK
